SUMMER SEASONAL: WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR
AQUATICS DIVISION

Summary: Plans, organizes, and provides quality swimming and water safety instruction to the general public. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and have thorough knowledge of teaching learn-to-swim and water safety courses. Familiarity with American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels and how to use course materials effectively. Adhere to and enforce facility rules, policies, and procedures. Create, prepare and organize weekly lesson plans for each class. Maintain a safe and controlled environment at all times. Professionally conduct oneself and communicate regularly with participants and their parents. Complete records and reports, including submitting course records. Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Provide quality customer service. Complete additional duties as assigned by Aquatics Coordinator or Supervisor
Qualifications Profile: Entry-level position. Candidates must be 16 years old.
Schedule: Reports to work 15 minutes prior to their assigned shift. Schedule is flexible, but requires evening and weekend hours anywhere from 3 hours to up to 40 hours per week depending on the season.
Licenses and Certifications: Requires American Red Cross Lifeguard Water Safety Instructor. American Red Cross Lifeguard certification preferred.
Wages: $19.34/hour. (For return staff form previous year, up to $20.59/hour.).
