Shift: Friday – Sunday 6:00am – 6:00pmJob Type: Full-timeOverall ResponsibilitySet-up/run laser according to programs and preset parameters.Make necessary adjustments to parameters for best edge quality and cut speed.Operate state of the art Amada Fiber Laser with thin-to-thick material processing without additional machine setupCheck quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues.Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirementsConvert drawings into machine programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Dr. ABE, SigmaNEST, or similar)Optimize nesting and material layout to reduce waste and maximize utilizationValidate bend allowances, bend deductions, tooling requirements, and machine constraintsKey Job Duties (not exhaustive)Set up and operate laser cutting equipment based on production requirementsMonitor machine performance and make adjustments as neededLoad and handle materials using cranes and/or forkliftsEnsure accurate part production and quality standardsConvert engineering drawings into machine programs using CAD/CAM softwareOptimize nesting and material usage to reduce wasteDevelop efficient cutting paths and machine parameters Validate tooling, bend allowances, and machine constraintsSupport press brake and turret programming as neededTroubleshoot programming and production issues on the floorWork closely with operators to improve setup and run efficiencyIdentify inefficiencies in production and recommend improvementsHelp standardize processes across shiftsSupport training and development of operatorsContribute to improving machine utilization and consistencyRequired Skills And Experience5+ years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing2+ years of CAD/CAM programming experienceStrong blueprint reading skillsExperience operating laser, press brake, or turret equipmentSolid math and measurement skills (calipers, tape measure, etc.)High attention to detail and qualityDesired Qualities and AttributesExperience with Dr. ABE, SigmaNEST, or similar softwareFamiliarity with SolidWorksStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work and function as a team.Self-motivated and can work without much supervision.Strong communication skills (written, verbal).Strong blue-print reading skills with attention to detail.Is safety minded and puts safety first while performing job duties and functions.Strong AttendanceWillingness to work overtime as neededPay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits401(k) matchDental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insurance100% company paid Life InsuranceFlexible scheduleProfit SharingDouble Time IncentivePaid HolidaysSwitchgear Power Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
