Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an entry-level Staff Accountant to join our team in Kansas City, Kansas. If you have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen interest in grant management, this role is ideal for you.Responsibilities:- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for multiple grants, managing up to 70-100 grants simultaneously.- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support grant-related decision-making.- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for grant compliance and audits.- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial processes.- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.- Conduct financial variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements.- Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline financial data management and reporting.- Participate in internal meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.- Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, particularly in managing grants.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis.- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.- COVID-19 vaccination is required for this role.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
