Sales Associate
Position Summary:The Sales Associate plays a key role in fueling Biocom’s membership growth by generating qualified meetings and early-stage opportunities for the Membership Sales team. This role is responsible for proactive prospecting, relationship initiation, and pipeline development—ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality membership conversations aligned with Biocom’s mission to accelerate the life science ecosystem. The Sales Associate partners closely with Sales Managers and Sales Operations to support regional growth efforts, particularly across the Bay Area life sciences community.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Pipeline Generation & Meeting SettingProactively generate and schedule qualified introductory meetings for assigned Sales Managers, completing all required pre-work including prospect research, targeting and contact validation.Document meeting context, prospect pain points, and engagement history in Salesforce to support effective Sales Manager handoffs.Attend lead share meetings and convert shared leads into actionable Salesforce opportunities.Actively monitor and manage assigned prospecting pipelines, refreshing outreach strategies and adding new contacts as opportunities stall or mature.Prospecting & Outreach ExecutionIdentify and engage prospective member organizations using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other prospecting tools.Execute structured, multi-channel outreach sequences using Salesloft to drive engagement and meeting conversions.Test and refine outreach messaging and cadence strategies, incorporating A/B testing insights to improve response and conversion rates.Monitor non-member attendance at Biocom events and leverage event participation as a warm lead source for follow-up outreach.Sales Operations & Data ExcellenceMaintain accurate, timely, and complete data in Salesforce, including activities, contacts, leads and opportunities.In collaboration with Sales Operations teams, support Salesloft cadence management, basic troubleshooting and template/cadence optimization.Track and report on weekly activity metrics, meeting conversation rates and early-stage pipeline health.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.At least 2+ years of experience in sales development, inside sales, business development, customer engagement, or a related role.Prior experience in outbound prospecting or lead generation is a plus but not required.Foundational understanding of sales concepts, including lead generation, prospecting and pipeline management.Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Salesloft or similar).Basic awareness of life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, or innovation-driven industries preferred but not required.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft concise, professional outreach messages.Effective prospect research and targeting skills, including the ability to identify relevant decision-makers.Ability to manage multiple outreach campaigns simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Comfort using sales technology tools and quickly learning new systems and processes.Basic analytical skills to interpret activity metrics and adjust outreach strategies accordingly.The anticipated compensation package for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 base salary plus commissions. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education etc. Biocom is a multi-state and multi-regional employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states and regions.Biocom is the leader and advocate for California’s life science sector.
