Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join a well-established higher education organization in Springfield, Ohio. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, cash management, and regulatory compliance.Compensation: Up to $120,000ResponsibilitiesLead accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, audits, cash management, budgeting support, endowment accounting, and compliance activities.Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.Manage annual financial statement audits and tax reporting.Supervise and develop accounting staff, including AP and AR functions.Manage banking relationships, cash flow, investments, and asset management activities.Ensure compliance with GAAP and institutional financial policies.Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, financial planning, and strategic initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.Experience managing audits and month-end/year-end close processes.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.CPA or CPA candidate preferred.Higher education experience preferred.Nonprofit and grant/fund accounting experience highly desirable.Experience with accounting/ERP systems; Ellucian Colleague experience is a plus.Why Apply?Leadership opportunity with significant organizational impact.Stable and respected higher education environment.Competitive compensation.
