Job Description Legal Secretary – Litigation DefenseLocation: Sandusky, OHSchedule: Hybrid (after onboarding)Experience: Strong Litigation Defense background requiredA respected regional defense firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support its busy Litigation Defense practice in the Sandusky office. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail‐driven, and comfortable managing multiple attorneys and deadlines in a fast‐paced environment. A hybrid schedule is available once training is complete.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to defense attorneysPrepare, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and correspondenceManage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetingsHandle state and federal e‐filing in accordance with court rulesMaintain organized electronic and physical case files, including docketing deadlinesCommunicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and expertsAssist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, witness lists, and trial bindersSupport billing processes, including time entry and expense trackingPerform general administrative tasks such as dictation, mail processing, and document formattingQualifications3–5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant in litigation defenseStrong understanding of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirementsProficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systemsExcellent proofreading, formatting, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervisionProfessional communication skills and a client‐service mindsetExperience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneouslyWhat the Firm OffersCompetitive compensation and full benefitsHybrid schedule after onboardingStable, long‐tenured litigation teamSupportive, collaborative work environmentOpportunity to work on meaningful, high‐level defense matters
