Material Handler

*Schedule:* 6 :00 am-2:30 p.m *Job Summary:* * Load, unload, move, and stage structural steel and raw materials. * Handle large/heavy steel beams, sometimes 40–60 feet long. * Operate an overhead crane and other material-handling equipment. * Move materials between production, fabrication, and shipping areas. * Verify materials, quantities, and work orders. * Assist with loading and securing finished steel for shipment. * Work safely around heavy machinery, cranes, forklifts, and steel products. * Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors depending on the facility. * Steel/manufacturing experience and overhead crane experience preferred or required. *Responsibilities:* * Load, unload, move, and stage structural steel and fabricated materials. * Safely handle large and heavy steel beams, including materials approximately 40–60 feet long. * Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts to transport steel throughout the facility. * Supply production and fabrication areas with the correct materials. * Assist with loading and unloading trucks and preparing finished products for shipment. * Read work orders, material tags, and basic production documentation. * Verify material quantities, sizes, and identification numbers. * Organize steel and materials in designated storage and staging areas. * Inspect lifting equipment, chains, hooks, and slings before use. * Follow proper rigging and lifting procedures when moving structural steel. * Maintain a clean and safe work area. *Qualifications:* * Previous material handling experience, preferably in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or a heavy industrial environment. * Overhead crane experience required or strongly preferred. * Forklift experience preferred. * Experience safely handling large structural steel beams and heavy materials. * Knowledge of basic rigging, chains, slings, hooks, and lifting procedures. * Ability to read material tags, work orders, measurements, and basic production instructions. * Ability to work safely around cranes, machinery, forklifts, and heavy steel. * Must be able to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift. * Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required. * Must follow all PPE and company safety requirements. #LSM125 Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
