Job description We are looking for a Medical Receptionist/ Assistant Biller for our Albany location. This position will work under the direction of the Billing Manager, and will work together with our Medical Billers and other support staff. We are looking for a person who enjoys working with people, can work independently, and take initiative, is an excellent communicator, and is willing to be accountable. Furthermore, a person who is detail-oriented, structured, works systematically, is experienced with Google Drive, and Microsoft Office, and has verifiable Administrative Work experience. Having reception and insurance verification experience is required. Having experience with Medical Billing is preferable but not required. This is not a remote position, working from the office is expected. Since this is a position in Mental Health, we are looking for a team member who understands clients with Mental Health challenges, who can interact warmly and compassionately with Arise's clients. Medical Reception Essential Responsibilities Answers the phone at the Arise office and answers questions or directs phone calls and messages Greets clients upon arrival and answers client questions regarding scheduling, therapist availability, office procedures, HIPAA compliance Creates and maintains patients' electronic health records Records and updates demographic and financial information Maintains client data with OHA (MOTS). When needed, (re-)schedules and coordinates patient appointments to optimize client satisfaction and facility efficiency When needed, Onboarding new clients Word processing, filing, Information research, Shredding, Faxing, Keeping reception HIPAA compliant, and completing any and all clerical functions Attend ongoing training and courses to keep up to date on new developments in health care, health insurance, and medical billing Comply with organizational guidelines and health care laws and regulations. Assist in keeping the office organized and running smoothly. Maintain total confidentiality of personal and financial data Assists providers with administrative and scheduling related questions. Assistant Medical Biller Essential Responsibilities Daily Insurance verification, for new and existing clients.
