At the same time, this role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, communicating proactively, and asking for support when needed.What You'll Be DoingMaintain and support the Cleveland R&D lab environment, including server, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologiesReceive, install, rack, stack, cable, configure, and track lab equipment and infrastructureSupport new product introduction (NPI) projects and help prepare technologies for internal support teamsConfigure systems for remote access and ensure devices are properly networked and accessibleMonitor lab safety, environmental standards, power usage, and equipment organizationMaintain documentation for lab equipment, processes, remote monitoring tools, and configurationsAssist with hardware upgrades, component replacements, firmware/microcode management, and system reconfigurationHelp optimize lab space and infrastructure to support future growth and scalabilityPartner with engineering, support, and leadership teams on lab deployments and technical initiativesProvide occasional support for Level 3 technical troubleshooting as neededGive tours of the lab to employees, customers, and partnersParticipate in occasional travel for partner training opportunities related to cooling technologies and emerging solutionsSupport periodic high-volume project bursts where multiple new technologies are deployed and configured simultaneouslyFollow established safety procedures related to electrical systems, cooling systems, lifting equipment, and lab operationsCommunicate proactively with leadership and team members, especially when priorities become complex or workloads increaseWhat We're Looking ForExperience working in a data center, lab environment, or managing enterprise infrastructureHands-on experience with server, storage, and networking hardwareUnderstanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, HCI, and GPU-based environmentsFamiliarity with configuring hardware, remote access tools, IP addressing, and infrastructure setupKnowledge of electrical fundamentals, including power distribution, voltage requirements, and cabling best practicesMechanical aptitude, including experience working with lifting equipment, server lifts, or cooling-related systemsStrong troubleshooting and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working independently while staying connected with remote leadership and teammatesStrong communication skills and willingness to ask questions or seek support when neededAbility to support occasional on-call situations for urgent lab needsExperience documenting processes, equipment, and configurations preferredCuriosity and interest in learning emerging technologies and lab best practicesEducationBachelor’s Degree preferred.Bonus PointsManufacturer or standards certification preferred.Travel20%
