Cleaning technician Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Systems - night

Commercial kitchens have large exhaust systems that sit above the cooking appliances to vent grease and other cooking vapors. These systems get lined with grease and require regular cleaning to meet fire code. Your job will be to clean these systems to meet fire code using strong degreasers and pressurized water. The entire system needs to be cleaned including the duct work and the fan(s) on the roof. You will be required to get licensed by the state to perform hood cleaning and and pass a State background check. Hours: A typical shift will start sometime between 7 pm and 11 pm and last 6-10 hours on average. Typically you will clean 2 restaurants in one shift. Work needs to be done while the restaurants are closed, which for most customers is night time. There will be some jobs that need to be done during daytime hours, but the vast majority of the work will be done at night. A perk of this position is we are flexible with schedules and as long as you give us sufficient notice we can accommodate time off. Location/travel: Most of the work is in the area between Ogden and Provo however. Some work is further away and will require travel and sometimes hotel stays. Every effort will be made to assign you to jobs that are closer to you, but you will need to go to jobs that are further away as needed. Once you are trained, licensed and approved for lead work you will be assigned a van which you will be responsible for caring for and driving to and from the work site. You will need to store this van at your place of residence when not in use. Travel time two and from the job site is paid at a halftime rate (i.e. just clock in one way).
