Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.Position Summary:We are seeking an energetic individual to fulfill the role of HR Generalist. This is a full-time position located at our growing corporate team in Columbus, Ohio. The HR Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of human resources functions while also supporting payroll administration for the organization.The HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders, supporting employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, benefits administration, while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in aligning HR practices with business objectives to support a positive, compliant, and productive workplace.Responsibilities:Human Resources -Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, hiring, and offer letter preparation.Coordinate onboarding activities, including background checks, drug screens, new hire paperwork, and E-Verify completion.Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, and corrective action processes.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and update HR policies as needed.Administer employee benefits programs, manage billing, and coordinate annual open enrollment activities.Develop and maintain accurate HR records, reports, and metrics to support data-driven decision-making.Support training initiatives, employee engagement programs, and career development planning.Administer and track leave programs, including FMLA and ADA accommodations, and manage Workers' Compensation claims and billing while supporting employees through the process.Payroll & HRIS -Assist with processing multi-state payroll accurately and on time, including regular, overtime, and off-cycle payroll runs.Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records, including deductions, garnishments, and adjustments.Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and company policies.Collaborate with the payroll manager to reconcile payroll data, support audits, and complete year-end reporting (W-2, ACA, etc.).Administer and optimize HRIS/payroll systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, pay discrepancies, and other HR or payroll-related matters.Essential Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred; relevant professional experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience with direct payroll administration responsibilities (multi-state preferred).Knowledge of employment laws, payroll regulations, and HR best practices.Experience in manufacturing/industrial setting (e.g. shift premiums, union payroll) preferred.Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Dayforce preferred).Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes base salary, health, dental, vision, life and disability products and a 401k program with company match.V&S Galvanizing LLC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
