You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.Work ShiftSecond Shift (United States of America)Job DescriptionWelds and assembles metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment. Sets up parts for welding; uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures. Works from specifications, drawings and weld symbols. Prepares and completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding and cleaning metal.ResponsibilitiesProduce weldments to the specified documentation on both prints and job paperwork.Must be able to read and comprehend job paperwork and prints.Responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of the tools within the work area.Notify Production Supervisor when welding supplies are needed.Maintain a clean work area.Fit all assemblies and subassemblies prior to paint to ensure accuracy and quality control.Safe operation of overhead cranes and all other shop equipment (electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic).Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredMust be certifiable and able to pass the certification test in accordance with the AWS D14.1 specificationsSMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc welding experience preferredMust be able to operate and use flame cutting equipmentUse and read basic hand tools; including but not limited to grinders, drills, tape measuresHandle materials with forklifts and overhead cranes as neededRequired to travel throughout all the facilitiesMust be able to communicate with factory supervision effectively and follow company policiesWork EnvironmentADA Physical/Mental/Workplace RequirementsAble to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsAble to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as requiredAble to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shiftAble to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levelsGorbel® is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
