The STS Modernization Developer is responsible for modernizing legacy applications, refactoring outdated components, and building updated, scalable, cloud ready solutions.
The role focuses on transforming existing systems, improving performance, enhancing integrations, and aligning applications with modern architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze legacy applications and design modernization paths (refactor, rebuild, re-platform).
Develop updated components using modern languages, frameworks, and architectural patterns.
Improve existing APIs, integrations, and data flows to meet current standards.
Enhance system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and modernization teams to deliver end-to-end upgrades.
Participate in testing, documentation, release management, and cutover planning.
Required Skills:
Experience in application modernization or legacy system transformation.
Strong hands-on development skills (Java / .NET / Node / Python).
Understanding of modern architectures: microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-ready design.
Ability to work with legacy systems (old frameworks, monoliths, on prem infra, old API layers).
Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud migration (AWS / Azure / GCP).
Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Familiarity with modernization tools (code scanners, migration analyzers).
Experience with service rewriting, re-platforming, or decoupling monoliths.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.67/hour - $54.18/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
