This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the EMOF reactors and assessment tools either directly or through the work of operators/technicians. This individual is accountable for ensuring that the quality of materials produced by the EMOF tools meet the required specifications.Schedule (optional between two):Shift A: Sunday-Tuesday bi-Wednesday 5A-5:15PShift C: Thursday-Saturday bi-Wednesday 5A-5:15PFunctionsFollows all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentSupports government and internally funded research and development efforts by effective operation of EMOF processesSustains production EMOF wafer processes for manufacturing high power semiconductor lasersIdentifies opportunities for continuous yield, throughput, and cycle-time improvementsMonitors control of manufacturing processes through SPCCreates and/or improves documentation of processes and procedures for ISOWorks collaboratively with process engineering to manage specific processes, and assists in defining and executing continuous process improvementsHelps define, and then executes routine process equipment maintenanceActs as first line of defense in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, routine data collection and effective communication of status and solutionsAssists with the training and certification of Production PersonnelSupports implementation of process and BOM changes on the lineLeads by example in eliminating Process Engineering from Production's critical pathDrives continuous improvement opportunities utilizing wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R), lean manufacturing and six sigma conceptsQualificationsAssociates Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, or Chemistry or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies.Degree in Laser or optics technology is preferred1+ years work experience in volume Production environment working with electronics, semiconductor equipment or opto-mechanical assembliesExperience with mechanical drawings and basic toolingMeticulous attention to detail, highly organized and self-motivatedKnowledge and understanding of optics, fibers, laser diodes and test equipment is highly preferredAbility to communicate effectively through oral and written communicationsAbility to analyze and solve problems independentlyAbility to work with others in a professional and collaborative mannerAbility to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through, and minimum supervisionAbility to gown cleanroom attire and wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time including laser safety protective eyewearBackground interests in Science or EngineeringGood analytic and communication skillsAbility to clearly and effectively summarize and present resultsSelf-motivated and strong team playerCapability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Ability to work overtime as required to meet production output schedulesIn order to be considered for this position, candidates must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process, as well as additional periodic background checks as required by the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) or regulations adopted by the Department of Homeland Security or other regulatory agencies.nLIGHT is proud to offer comprehensive COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay depends on qualifications.* Process Technician I - starts at $23.41 - $29.30 per hour* Process Technician II - starts at $25.49 - $33.10 per hour* Process Technician III - starts at $27.57 - $35.80 per hourShift differentials are paid at the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PM and 12:00AM and at 15% for hours worked between 12:00AM and 5:30AMTarget Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% of earned wages120 hours of paid Vacation per year, plus paid Sick Leave and 10 paid HolidaysEligible for health benefits on the 1st day of the month after your start dateMedical, Dental and Vision Benefits, including prescription and orthodontia with employee-paid premiums as low as $40.00 per pay periodCompany paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, and Life & AD&D InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramAflac Supplemental InsuranceFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsEmployee Stock Purchase Plan401(k) with company match and immediate vestingJury Duty and Bereavement Leave PayTuition AssistancePet InsurancenLIGHT is subject to US Export Control regulations.
