About the JobJob Title: Heavy Equipment MechanicJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and precision maintenance of our fleet of heavy machinery (including excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders). The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who prioritizes safety and takes pride in keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.Key Responsibilities:Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use advanced diagnostic software and traditional mechanical testing to identify malfunctions in engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections, to ensure equipment longevity.System Repairs: Overhaul and repair major components, including fuel systems, electrical circuits, and complex hydraulic setups.Welding & Fabrication: Perform minor welding and torch-cutting tasks to repair frames or buckets as needed.Documentation: Maintain accurate digital logs of all repairs, parts used, and inspection findings.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, ensuring a clean and hazard-free workspace.Required Skills & Qualifications:Experience: 3+ years of experience as a mechanic specifically working on heavy construction or agricultural equipment.Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of diesel engines and high-pressure hydraulic systems.Tooling: Must possess a personal set of basic tools (specialized tools will be provided).Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and spend long periods standing or kneeling in various weather conditions.
