Commercial Custodian

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Commercial Custodian to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team as a route cleaner. You will report to our office in Sterling Heights each morning for your assigned route. Valid Driver's License is REQUIRED, along with a good driving record and clean criminal record. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our commercial spaces. Your efforts will ensure a welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors alike. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies. Conduct detailed janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards. Execute specialized floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain high-quality flooring throughout the facility. Assist with custodial duties related to industrial cleaning projects and facilities maintenance tasks as needed. Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass surfaces, and exterior entrances to promote a professional appearance. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others. Make deliveries of cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals. Follow established policies and protocols Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted, bend, reach, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout your shift. Smart Phone required for timekeeping and Payroll purposes. OSHA-10 Certification strongly preferred. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is REQUIRED Demonstrated ability to perform floor care tasks such as buffing and waxing with commercial equipment. Experience with residential painting or general facilities maintenance is advantageous but not required. Familiarity with cleaning supplies, tools, and safety procedures related to industrial cleaning environments. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions carefully while adhering to health and safety standards.
