Develops procedures to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control programs. Coordinates with relevant departments to schedule, audit, and reconcile periodic physical inventories. Oversees incoming shipments of merchandise to ensure that inventory is accurate, updated and provided according to schedules.This Role In SummaryThe Master Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring operational stability and customer satisfaction by developing, maintaining, and executing the plant’s master production schedule. This role aligns demand, capacity, materials, and labor to create a feasible production plan that meets business goals. The Master Scheduler collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Materials, Finance, and New Product Integration (NPI) teams to support production continuity and on-time delivery.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeMaster Planning and SchedulingDevelop and maintain the plant’s master production schedule in alignment with demand forecasts, inventory strategies, and capacity constraintsAnalyze demand variation and adjust the schedule to meet customer requirements while minimizing disruptionsEnsure the master production schedule adheres to corporate planning standards and aligns with S&OP outcomesCapacity & Material CoordinationPartner with Operations to evaluate labor, equipment, and line capacity to ensure feasibility of schedule plansCollaborate with Materials, Procurement, and Logistics to anticipate and resolve material shortages or constraintsRecommend and execute schedule changes based on real-time availability of components and resourcesCross-Functional CollaborationWork with New Model Planning teams to integrate new product introductions or engineering changes into the production planCommunicate schedule changes and risks to key stakeholders across the plantProvide visibility of production status through reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics Continuous ImprovementIdentify process gaps and drive continuous improvements in scheduling processes, scheduling accuracy, planning tools, and communication flowsSupport lean/world class manufacturing (WCM), inventory reduction, and throughput optimization initiativesMaintain data integrity within planning systems (SAP, ERP platforms, MRP tools)Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related fieldProficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem solving abilitiesAbility to collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred Skills And Experiences3+ years in production planning, master scheduling, materials management, or a related supply chain roleAPICS CPIM or CSCP certificationExperience in high-volume manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with Lean Six Sigma, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), or other continuous improvement methodologiesExperience in supporting new model launches or engineering change integrationAdditional InformationWhirlpool’s Ways of WorkingBenefitsOur goal is to provide an environment that helps you bring your best to Whirlpool every day.
