Field Mechanic

The current job is located in Challis, Idaho. Must be willing to travel.Wages$25 - $35 per Hour$250 Daily Per DiemShift And Schedule6-Day Work Week (Dayshift)12 Hour ShiftsSummaryInspect, maintain and repair construction vehicles and heavy equipment/machinery using hand and power tools and appropriate lifting equipment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesRepair and replace damaged or worn partsDismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand toolsOperate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defectsTest mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specificationsClean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehiclesRead and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawingsOverhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiencyFit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentDiagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devicesExamine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gaugesSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneRequirementsWork in dusty or dirty surroundingWorkers must be able to stoop, bend, crouch and crawl; use hands, arms and legs fully; grasp, manipulate, and assemble small objects; see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)Lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 poundsAbility to be away from home for long periods of timeValid Driver’s license and good driving recordMust have own toolsEducation And ExperienceHigh school diploma preferred two-three years relevant experience.Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
