Assistant Press Operator- 3rd Shift
Job SummaryKodi Collective is seeking an Assistant Press Operator for our Liberty, MO facility. This role involves preparing, operating, and maintaining our web press equipment, ensuring high-quality production and smooth operations.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect and prepare rolls, ensuring they are damage-free; insert and inflate roll shafts; web up the press from roll-stand to folder; adjust web guide sensors to the correct paper width.Set nip rollers; adjust or replace cut blades, head perf, tucker blades; set workbook perf, folder pins, cutting rubber, spine perf, shear pins, and stripping fingers; configure the former board and divert compensators to match paper size; adjust chopper for accurate fold configuration.Adjust paper feed guides to stacker; set jogger width, stacker belt tension, and speeds; center strapping on bundles; set bundle length; replace strapping reels as needed.Engage print units and remotes; install end blocks correctly; hang blankets; ensure proper water flow to units; adjust the dampening system and rollers.Review the quality plan and ensure the web press is ready for use.Inspect plates for imperfections, set inks, and verify color proofs.Collaborate with customers to finalize job details and checklists.Operate stacker/bundler safely; manage finished bundles, conduct quality checks, and ensure all press equipment is running smoothly.Perform press wash-ups, including mounting wash-up trays, removing ink from fountains, cleaning rollers with appropriate chemicals, and returning unused ink to its designated area.Maintain and lubricate the press according to maintenance procedures.Keep the press area clean and organized, using downtime effectively to maintain the pressroom.Perform miscellaneous tasks as required by management.Qualifications4-5 years of experience in web press operation, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Strong understanding of printing processes and terminology.Ability to apply logical or scientific principles to solve a variety of intellectual and practical problems, dealing with both abstract and concrete variables.Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.Physical ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.Why Work At Kodi CollectiveOpportunities to earn and save more, including referral bonuses, discount programs, and overtime bonuses.Extensive growth and development opportunities.Comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and more, eligible after 30 days.Paid Holidays, plus an additional personal holiday of your choice.Complimentary on-site Active Release Therapy (ART).No uniform required, with possible safety reimbursement after 6 months.Our Commitment To ESGWe are dedicated to making the world a better place by leveraging technology to minimize our environmental impact, fostering a business culture that values diversity and inclusion, and upholding principles of accountability, transparency, and integrity in everything we do.Connect With UsWant to learn more about Kodi?
