This is a flexible opportunity ideal for professionals passionate about delivering high-quality eye care to underserved and diverse patient populations.Roles & ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity, focus, coordination, and perception assessmentsDiagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision disordersPerform diagnostic procedures such as refraction, visual field testing, pupil and motility exams, slit lamp exams, ophthalmoscopy, gonioscopy, and tear function testingProvide treatment plans and therapeutic interventions to preserve or improve visionEducate patients on eye health, contact lens care, and preventive practicesMaintain accurate documentation using EHR systemsSupport and train clinic staff on vision screening proceduresFollow infection control protocols and clinic safety standardsQualificationsDoctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institutionActive and unrestricted California Optometry licenseGlaucoma certification (preferred)Current BLS certification1-2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in community health or underserved settingsStrong knowledge of ocular disease management and diagnostic equipmentProficiency with EHR systemsLanguage Skills (Preferred): Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish, Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto)Excellent communication skills to serve diverse patient populations
