Compliance Monitor

Position DescriptionThis position Compliance Monitor - Financial Accountability, is a full-time Civil Service position in the Metro Finance department. This position, located in the Office of Financial Accountability, is responsible for performing professional and technical duties involved in conducting compliance reviews in accordance with federal, state and local grant program requirements, applicable laws, regulations and stated outcomes and results. This position requires strong analytical, oral, written, and organizational skills. The selected applicant will also have demonstrated customer service orientation.Metro Finance has several divisions, including procurement, treasury and management and budget. Department employees provide financial management, information and business products to policy makers, departments, investors, and the Nashville community to give them confidence in our government and to help them make informed decisions.Typical DutiesPerforms grant reviews of Metro departments to ensure compliance with Federal, State and other applicable requirements.Performs reviews of Metro departments to ensure compliance with the Metro Procurement Code and the Procurement Regulations.Conducts monitoring reviews of non-profit agencies that receive Community Partnership Funds or Direct Appropriation Grants for compliance with Metro grant requirements.Conducts analytical reviews of programmatic and financial data, organizational issues, policies and procedures on special projects and makes recommendations to management.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, or related discipline.For this specific position, there will be no substitutions*Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesOne to Two years of accounting, auditing, finance, or related experience Knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental auditingExperience in applying concepts of budgetary, policy and management analysisExperience working with monitoring techniques to test internal controls, program objectives, allowable cost, allowable activities, and reliability of financial and programmatic reportsProficient computer skills in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPointWe are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at all levels.
