Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and IV insertion skills, working night shifts with every other weekend requirements.Job Details• Hospital Medical/Surgical unit setting,• Patient ratio of 1:6,• Night shift, 7p-7a (approximately 18:45-07:15),• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week,• Self-scheduling,• Every other weekend required (2 shifts plus one day of on-site training with an educator),• Floating is not required, though working as a sitter or monitor tech is possible on rare occasions,• EMR and unit systems include Meditech (documentation), Omnicell (medication), and SBAR (communication),Job Requirements• Active NC or compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration),• Current BLS certification required,• ACLS preferred,• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,• IV insertion proficiency required,• Two manager/supervisor professional references from within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable),Additional Information• Navy scrubs required,• Orientation includes weekly orientation sessions plus one day of on-site training with an educator,• 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules required (must be completed prior to start date and renewed annually),• Candidates who have previously worked for Novant Health or New Hanover in any capacity (permanent, PRN, or EP) must have a 12-month gap before being eligible to apply as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required,• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment,• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,• Travel pairs are welcome, provided each traveler has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules,• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but would be placed at a local rate,
