Regional Sales ManagerPerm/Direct HireRemote with travel to clients in region (NY, NJ, CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT)Compensation up to $94k salary plus commissionsTo Start:This role will start by setting visits and meeting in-person with current clients as 90% of the day to day role. This person will be humble, hard-working, and build trust and rapport with long-time clients. Over time this role will mix to ideally 60% calling on current clients and 40% building new clients. Clients include direct customers and resellers for a reputable, well-known brand.Must Have:*5+ years of experience selling into petroleum and/or chemicals industry with understanding of tank trunks, terminals, and hazardous materials industry*Comfortable with 80% travel (mostly driving, NY/NJ and New England)*Honest, trustworthy, and hard-workingOverviewOur client is seeking a relationship-driven Regional Sales Manager to support and grow an established customer base throughout the Northeast. This field-based role combines consultative sales, technical expertise, and strategic account management to deliver industry-leading solutions to customers operating in highly regulated and safety-critical environments.The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional with experience selling technical products or systems into industrial markets. This individual will focus on building long-term customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients across New Jersey, New York, and New England.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and expand an existing customer base while developing new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.Drive consultative, solution-oriented sales efforts with:Petroleum and chemical producersLiquid tank carriers and fleet operatorsTank truck manufacturers and OEMsTerminal operators and bulk storage facilitiesHome heating fuel and biofuel transport companiesTank accessory distributors and wholesalersConduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based discussions with engineers, operations leaders, safety professionals, and executive stakeholders.Develop strategic territory plans, sales forecasts, and customer engagement strategies.Represent the organization at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting information within CRM systems.Provide product training and technical support to customer operations and technical teams.Collaborate with internal engineering and leadership teams by sharing customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights.Desired QualificationsEducation & Technical BackgroundAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.Strong understanding of electronic controls, monitoring systems, industrial equipment, or communication technologies.Experience working within petroleum, chemical processing, liquid transfer, transportation, or hazardous materials environments is highly desirable.Experience5–10 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, account management, or solution-based selling.Proven success selling electronic, electromechanical, or industrial systems and equipment.Experience presenting technical solutions to OEMs, fleet operators, manufacturers, or customers within regulated industries is preferred.Professional SkillsConsultative sales approach with strong technical aptitude.Ability to build credibility and long-term customer relationships.Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.Self-directed, organized, and results-oriented.Positive, collaborative team player with a customer-first mindset.Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across purchasing, operations, maintenance, engineering, and executive leadership functions.Territory & TravelThis is a field-based position supporting customers throughout the Northeast, including:New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont.Travel up to 80% during the workweek.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.TWIC credential, or the ability to obtain one, required for access to regulated facilities.
