Azure Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an Azure Engineer to support and enhance cloud infrastructure for a client operating within the government contracting and secure services industry. The Azure Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on cloud professional with strong Azure experience, deep Active Directory knowledge, and a background in building and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions.Responsibilities of the Azure Engineer:Design, build, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure in a secure, IL5-compliant environmentArchitect and implement Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions, including image management, scaling, and performance optimizationSupport and administer Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity integrations across hybrid environmentsCollaborate directly with customers to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and troubleshoot issuesMonitor, maintain, and improve cloud reliability, security, and performancePartner with internal engineering, security, and operations teams to support cloud modernization effortsQualifications of the Azure Engineer:5+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure engineeringStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and architectureProven experience building and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), preferably in IL5 or other regulated environmentsDeep knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, group policy, and identity managementCustomer-facing experience with strong communication and problem-solving skillsExperience supporting hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + Azure)Compensation for the Azure Engineer includes:* Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience* Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTOThis job opens for applications on 05/26/2026.
