This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UUTotal Rewards of a Allied Health ProfessionalFormulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the Veteran, interdisciplinary team, and when appropriate family members or caregivers.Monitor treatment progress and reassess Veteran needs.Ensure treatment plans include strengths, measurable goals, referral plans, and relevant history including mental health, substance use, medical, legal, housing, and social functioning.Provide housing stabilization interventions designed to support long-term tenancy and prevent eviction, including problem-solving with Veterans regarding lease compliance, conflict resolution, and engagement in supportive services.Deliver crisis intervention and supportive counseling to Veterans experiencing housing instability, behavioral health crises, or other psychosocial stressors impacting housing retention.Assist Veterans in developing skills necessary for independent community living, including budgeting, maintaining housing, navigating community systems, and engaging in healthcare and recovery services.Provide case management and care coordination to facilitate appropriate delivery of healthcare services.Conduct face-to-face meetings with Veterans in their homes or community settings as clinically appropriate.Coordinate with community housing providers and supportive service agencies to ensure continuity of care and access to resources necessary for housing stability.Facilitate communication between Veterans, VA providers, housing authorities, and community partners to resolve housing barriers and support Veteran engagement in services.Utilize working knowledge of community-based housing, healthcare, and supportive service resources to make referrals and coordinate care.Develop individualized service plans supporting housing stability, behavioral health recovery, and functional independence.Assist Veterans with navigating community systems and accessing housing supports including rental assistance programs, housing inspections, landlord coordination, and community-based supportive services.Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments with Veterans from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.Identify behavioral health symptoms, risk factors, and psychosocial stressors including abuse, neglect, exploitation, and interpersonal violence.Assess factors affecting housing stability including financial management, tenancy history, landlord relationships, and environmental risks within the Veteran's living environment.Conduct assessments in community settings, including Veteran residences and housing sites, as appropriate to support engagement and effective service delivery.Complete regular biopsychosocial assessments and updates to ensure appropriate treatment modalities and document progress.Implement treatment modalities utilizing judgment and skill in supportive, problem-solving, or crisis intervention techniques.Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary providers using appropriate clinical terminology.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address behavioral health and medical conditions that interfere with housing retention and community functioning.Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, or supportive psychotherapy when clinically indicated.Advocate for Veterans within healthcare systems and community agencies to ensure access to needed services.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am to 4:30 pmRecruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not AuthorizedEDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
