Job Description This Medical Technologist position is based in Port Charlotte, FL, supporting a statewide network of hospital-based rapid-response laboratories that serve more than 250 acute and rehabilitation hospitals, physician practices, surgery centers, and commercial accounts across Florida. The broader laboratory infrastructure includes a fully automated esoteric core laboratory and dedicated histology and microbiology operations.The role. Reporting to the laboratory supervisor, the Medical Technologist is responsible for performing accurate and timely diagnostic testing, including stat procedures within established turnaround time targets. In the supervisor's absence, the technologist assumes departmental oversight responsibility and exercises independent judgment in correlating and interpreting patient results — including delta checks and critical value management. The position requires consistent review of pending and result logs to resolve outstanding workload, as well as rigorous execution of quality control protocols and appropriate handling of problem specimens and critical results.What we're looking for.Associate degree (2-year) required; Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferredMinimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist requiredActive State of Florida Technologist License requiredTechnologist licensure in one or more clinical specialty areas required (Generalist licensure highly preferred); qualifying specialties include Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and MicrobiologySchedule. Full-time, night shift with rotating weekends.Compensation. $27.09 - $32.51/hr
