Certifications: AHA BLS required, MRI Certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire date. Must-Have: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose of this role is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, and skills, the technologist provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services. Care is delivered under routine or emergent conditions and in various settings, including acute inpatient facilities and outpatient practices. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with the procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. This collaboration aims to identify and implement actions necessary to achieve clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required elements are documented and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols. Transfers images and data to archival systems and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other maintenance as per guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments. Demonstrates skill in applying principles of medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics. Ability to work as part of a team and consistently report to work as scheduled is essential. Must be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes is required. Must possess the ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and exercise discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations is necessary. Must have core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to the specialty for which hired and credentialed.
