Head of AI Product
About UsStructure Therapeutics develops life‐changing medicines for patients using advanced structure‐based and computational drug discovery technology. The company’s platform combines the latest advancements in visualization of molecular interactions, computational chemistry, and data integration to design orally available, superior small molecule medicines that overcome current limitations of biologic and peptide drugs. We are advancing a clinical‐stage pipeline of differentiated treatments focused on chronic diseases with high unmet need, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and pulmonary conditions.Structure Therapeutics is led by an experienced group of international drug innovators and financed by top-tier global life sciences investors. The company completed an initial public offering (IPO) in February 2023. With offices in California and Shanghai, Structure Therapeutics has the benefit of being at the center of life science innovation in both the US and China and capitalizing on the strengths of each geographic location.Position SummaryWe are seeking an Executive Director, Head of AI Product to lead the product discipline within Structure’s newly formed AI function. This is a uniquely senior role: the person who defines what gets built, why it matters, and whether it delivers — across every AI initiative the company pursues. The Head of AI Product owns the kAIzen product discipline: a problem-first, outcome-driven approach to AI that keeps Structure’s investment anchored to real business and scientific value. You will work directly with leaders across Clinical, R&D, CMC, Commercial, and G&A to surface the highest-impact problems, translate them into well-scoped AI opportunities, and see those opportunities through to measurable adoption. You will run vendor evaluation, manage functionally-aligned product managers, and serve as the connective tissue between the business and the AI engineering and data teams that build on your direction. The profile we are looking for is a biopharma domain expert who has grown into product leadership — someone who has lived in the scientific or operational work of drug development, developed sharp instincts about where AI creates genuine value versus hype, and built the craft to turn those instincts into products that people actually use. Executive presence, business partnership, and the ability to lead without authority across a matrixed organization are as important as technical fluency.Job ResponsibilitiesThe kAIzen Product DisciplineOwn Structure’s approach to AI product management: problem-first, outcome-driven, distributed. Define how AI opportunities are identified, prioritized, scoped, and evaluated across the organization. Establish the operating rhythm of the AI product function — how the team works with business units, how progress is tracked, and how value is measured.Problem Definition & PrioritizationWork with leaders across Clinical, R&D, CMC, Commercial, and G&A to surface high-impact problems that AI can address. Apply rigorous prioritization to ensure the AI function invests in problems that matter — not just problems that are technically interesting. Own the AI product roadmap and its alignment to corporate goals.Vendor EvaluationLead Structure’s AI vendor evaluation process. Define evaluation criteria, design sprint-based assessments, and synthesize findings into clear buy/build/partner recommendations. Ensure vendor evaluations are grounded in real data (in partnership with the Head of Data) and real technical feasibility (in partnership with the Head of AI Engineering). Manage external AI vendor relationships on an ongoing basis.Functionally-Aligned Product ManagementLead and develop a team of product managers aligned to Structure’s strategic pillars. In early stages, this team may be small or built over time — the Head of AI Product sets the model, hires to it, and owns the output of the PM function regardless of team size. Each PM serves as the primary AI product interface for their business unit, translating domain problems into structured AI opportunities.AI Product Engineering & IntegrationPartner with the Head of AI Engineering to build and maintain AI applications across Structure’s five strategic pillars: Clinical, G&A, CMC, Commercial, and R&D. This includes integrating best-in-class AI tools into Structure’s specific workflows, developing bespoke applications where off-the-shelf solutions fall short, and ensuring every product connects back into the operational systems where work actually happens. The Knowledge SystemPartner With The Head Of AI Data To Build And Maintain The Enriched Data Layer That Powers All AI At Structure. This IncludesDefining and maintaining ontologies and semantic enrichments that make Structure’s data meaningful to AI systemsBuilding and managing the data catalog — the index of what Structure knows and where it livesCurating datasets from Clinical, Manufacturing, R&D, and G&A into forms usable for model training and AI inferenceOwning the digital twins — simulation models of manufacturing processes, clinical operations, and supply chain — as assets within the Knowledge SystemValue Delivery & AdoptionOwn the outcome, not just the output. AI products at Structure are not declared successful when they are deployed — they are successful when they are adopted, used, and delivering measurable value. The Head of AI Product defines what success looks like for each initiative and holds the product function accountable to it.Business Unit PartnershipServe as a senior strategic partner to business unit leaders across the company. Bring credibility that comes from domain experience — not just product process. Communicate the AI roadmap in terms that resonate with clinical, scientific, manufacturing, and commercial leaders, and bring those stakeholders along through change.AI Operating PhilosophyAct as a thought leader within the company on how to approach AI adoption responsibly and ambitiously. Help leaders distinguish signal from noise in a fast-moving technology landscape. Channel the energy of a curious, AI-leaning culture toward capability — giving people great tools while building genuine craft.Education/QualificationsBS degree required; MS or PhD preferred in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced scientific or clinical degrees are a strong plus given the domain depth this role requires.15+ years of experience in biopharma, with deep operational or scientific experience in at least one of Structure’s strategic pillars: Clinical Development, R&D/Discovery, CMC, Commercial, or G&A.Meaningful product leadership experience: has owned a product function, a product portfolio, or a significant digital/AI initiative from problem definition through adoption and value measurement.Demonstrated ability to translate complex domain problems into well-scoped AI or digital solutions — not just in theory, but with a track record of shipped products that created measurable value.Experience leading or shaping AI/ML initiatives in a biopharma context — understands what good AI product management looks like in a regulated, data-complex environment.Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization: influences without authority, builds trust across functions, and drives alignment through ambiguity.Experience with vendor evaluation and build-versus-buy decision-making for AI or digital tools in biopharma.Strong command of GxP operating environments (GCP, GMP, 21 CFR Part 11) and what they mean for AI product design, validation, and change control.Executive-level communication: can represent Structure’s AI strategy with authority and clarity to the board, C-suite, investors, and external partners.A recognized leader in the biopharma AI or digital transformation community — brings an external perspective and a network that accelerates what Structure is building.A people developer: known for elevating the product managers and cross-functional partners they’ve led; invests in the growth of others as a matter of habit.Comfortable being the person in the room who asks “what problem are we actually solving?” — and can do so in a way that energizes rather than deflates.Sufficient AI/ML literacy to engage credibly with the Head of AI Engineering and Head of Data: understands model development lifecycles, MLOps concepts, data readiness requirements, and the practical constraints of building AI in regulated environments.Able to evaluate AI vendor claims critically — distinguishes genuine capability from demo-ware.Familiarity with modern data platforms and the data infrastructure that underpins AI products is a meaningful advantage.Structure Therapeutics Inc. is an Equal-Opportunity Employer.Structure Therapeutics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.
