Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Youth Support WorkerType: Contract + Contract to PermSchedulePosition 1 -Fri to Mon (3p-11p)Position 2 - Fri to Mon (7a-3p)Position 3 - Sun to Thur (3p-11p)Location: Willingboro, NJPosition StatementAs YSW, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic services and establishing a therapeutic milieu within a residential day treatment framework for children/adolescents.Primary responsibilities are ensuring the client's safety and well-being, planning, and supervising programmed activities of daily living, providing therapeutic treatment services, facilitating client education, and serving as a positive role model for clients and staff.A Youth Support Worker may also be assigned to administrative duties as needed.Your role will be fundamental in creating a positive and supportive environment for the youth we serve.Responsibilities Of The Job And Essential ElementsUnder the direction of the Program Supervisor/Director, the Youth Support Worker is responsible for helping to create a highly structured, professional, and nurturing environment for the youth served at Crossroads.Youth Support Workers work with youth with complex behavioral health challenges to provide strength-based, family-friendly, and trauma-informed services.In conjunction with the program treatment team, the Youth Support Worker creates and delivers individual and group psycho-educational and life skills activities promoting self-sufficiency traits, skill sets, habits, and other assets.Youth are assessed in all areas of daily functioning to tailor services to each one's strengths and needs.Services are experiential, with a strong preference for teaching skills where the youth can practice the skill themselves.The Youth Support Worker also serves as a youth mentor/driver, providing transportation services as needed for program youth and reinforcing daily living and socialization skills.These are representative duties and responsibilities; other assignments and tasks may be assigned as required.Other ResponsibilitiesAdhere to a professional code of ethics.Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.Team-Oriented, ReliabilityAssessment/observing & recognizing verbal/non-verbal triggers and behavior.Goal setting/prioritizing & multi-tasking, resiliency, responsivenessEngagement, capable of developing rapport with youth and families served.Maintains client's rights and confidentiality.Adaption to change and follow through.Demonstrate initiative, patience & empathy.Administers medication safely and accurately (as per specific program guidelines)Availability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime on occasion.Will cooperate with UIR and any investigations.Minimum Education And Experience Qualification RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience (some program elements require a minimum of 3-5 years) working in a direct service capacity with youth in an out-of-home treatment settingA bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology, or Counseling is preferred.Additional requirements include the ability to engage and empower at-risk youth by listening, supporting, giving choices, and being a positive role model.Must possess a valid driver's license, strong verbal and written skills, and respect cultural and human diversity.Required SkillsMaintain SCM, first Aid and CPR CertificationsMaintain yearly Core Competency training as required by client or State Regulations.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check.External DescriptionAbout clientOur client is a residential program providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 5 to 12. Our residents may have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or challenging life circumstances. Maxine's house was designed to help children heal and grow by providing them with therapeutic care, education, and life training skills.Responsibilities Providing direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation and transportation to appointments and activities. Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment for each resident. Collaborative with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other career development activities. Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work or psychology with one year of experience in direct care for youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting. High School diploma holders with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered. A valid driver's license with a clean standing over the past 6 months is required. Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances. All new hires are required to successfully complete Safety Crisis Management (SCM) certification within one week of hire. Training Overview: Duration: The SCM program spans three days. Physical Demands: Active participation in physically demanding activities is necessary.
