Job Description:Broadcom is looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer (IC4) to join VMware Cloud Foundation’s (VCF) AI and Advanced Services team. This position is key to building a best in class Private Cloud AI Platform.The AI & Advanced Services team is responsible for building AI Platform capabilities into the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) product to enable our enterprise customers to have all of the AI platform features they need to build, deploy, test, manage, and scale their AI infrastructure and workloads.This role will be a member of the Private AI Services CI/DevOps Team, which is primarily responsible for delivering, maintaining and supporting all internal infrastructure and shared services required for Development and Testing of all Private AI Services software products. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in VMware SDDC products (vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T, WCP, etc.), Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline management, great troubleshooting skills and a strong commitment to providing amazing technical support to the Engineering Team.Key ResponsibilitiesCI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins, ensuring seamless and automated software testing and delivery.Infrastructure Delivery, Maintenance and Support: Design, provisioning, and ongoing support of resilient infrastructure environments, using VMware SSDC products, ensuring reliability and performance. Oversee lifecycle management of systems, proactively monitor and troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvements.Infrastructure Automation: Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to provision and manage different infrastructure environments.Scripting & Tooling: Develop and maintain different automation scripts (Python, Powershell, Bash) for deployment, management, monitoring, and operational tasks.Reliability & Monitoring: Implement and maintain observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, VMware Aria Ops for Logs, etc. to ensure infrastructure reliability and performance.Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level support to the Engineering Team for all issues related to internal infrastructure and shared services.Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate very closely with the Engineering Team to intimately understand their infrastructure requirements. Apply DevOps and infrastructure expertise to guide the Engineering Team and propose tailored solutions, while mentoring on best practices in DevOps methodologies and effective usage of infrastructure resources.Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of CI/CD and DevOps processes, pipelines, and infrastructure configurations.Requirements BS in Computer Science or related technical fields with 8+ years of software industry experience, with a possible focus on DevOps, AI/ML, QA/QE, Infrastructure Management or CI/CD.5+ years of experience with VMware SDDC products (vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T, WCP, etc.)Very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to work independentlyStrong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation and task orchestrationExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teamsExperience with Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)Experience with OCI Repository management (Artifactory, Harbor, etc.)Experience with version control systems and tools, such as GitHub and GitPrior exposure to AI/ML workloads, tools, or infrastructure is a very strong plusCandidate should not require sponsorshipAbility to work full time out of an office in Palo Alto, California What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for career growth and professional developmentCollaborative and dynamic work environmentAccess to cutting-edge technologies and toolsAdditional Job Description:Compensation And BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $192,000 This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
