Director of Finance

The Director of Finance supports the financial performance of a multi-unit restaurant organization by leading core financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions. This role partners closely with Operations, Development, and Executive Leadership to improve restaurant-level profitability, strengthen financial discipline, and support responsible growth initiatives. The Director of Finance oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and unit-level performance analysis while providing actionable insights that drive margin improvement and operational efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate in annual budgeting and reforecast processes for restaurant-level and corporate functions. Prepare long-range financial models to support new unit growth and remodeling initiatives. Analyze prime costs (food, beverage, labor) and controllable expenses to identify improvement opportunities. Monitor same-store sales, traffic trends, menu mix, and margin performance. Evaluate pricing, promotions, and menu initiatives for budgetary impact. Develop and maintain dashboards tracking sales, labor, COGS, and EBITDA. Contribute to weekly or period financial performance reviews. Support development of labor models and cost controls. Provide financial guidance on site selection and new unit pro formas. Conduct ROI analysis on remodels, equipment, technology, and capital projects. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of restaurant-level and consolidated P&L statements. Support cash flow forecasting and capital planning activities. Assist in maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and reduce risk. Support audit processes and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. Contribute to financial policy development and process improvements. Partner with Accounting and IT on financial systems, POS integrations, inventory systems, and AP automation. Improve reporting accuracy, automation, and data visibility across the organization. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting efficiency. Education and or ExperienceBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required. MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred. 5–8+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit environments. Experience supporting multi-site operations strongly preferred. Requirement and SkillsStrong understanding of restaurant P&L structure, labor models, and food cost controls. Advanced FP&A and forecasting capabilities. Ability to translate financial data into actionable operational insights. Experience with POS, inventory, ERP, and reporting systems. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority. Experience in growth-oriented or private equity-backed environments a plus. Preferred bilingual in Spanish. Preferred experience with R365. Experience with Data Rails.
