STEM Camp Instructor
Location: STEMagine Learning Center1869 Tower Drive, Suite E10Glenview, IL 60026Position Type: Part-time, seasonal, and on-callSTEMagine Learning Center is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Seasonal STEM Camp Instructor to lead and support engaging, hands-on learning experiences for children ages 6 and older.This position is available during school days off, winter and holiday breaks, spring break, and future summer camps. It is ideal for a teacher, substitute teacher, education professional, or STEM student who enjoys working with children in a creative and technology-rich environment.ResponsibilitiesLead age-appropriate STEM activities in areas such as LEGO robotics, coding, engineering, 3D design and printing, science, and creative problem-solving.Follow STEMagine lesson plans and help prepare activity materials.Explain concepts clearly and support children with different abilities and experience levels.Supervise campers and maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized learning environment.Encourage teamwork, curiosity, creativity, and respectful behavior.Assist with camper arrival, dismissal, breaks, lunch, and transitions between activities.Communicate professionally with STEMagine staff, children, and families.Help organize and clean the classroom and equipment at the end of each camp day.QualificationsPreferred candidates will have one or more of the following:Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or supervising children ages 6 and older.A degree, coursework, or professional experience in education, engineering, computer science, technology, mathematics, science, or a related field.Experience with robotics, coding, LEGO Education, makerspace activities, 3D printing, or project-based learning.Current or previous experience as a classroom teacher, substitute teacher, teaching assistant, camp instructor, or after-school instructor.Required SkillsEnthusiasm for working with children and introducing them to STEM.Strong communication and classroom-management skills.Reliability, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.Ability to learn new technologies and follow activity plans.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Availability during at least some school holidays and school days off.Successful completion of a background check before employment.CPR and First Aid certification are preferred but not required at the time of application.CompensationHalf-day camp: $100 for approximately 3–3.5 hoursFull-day camp: $180 for approximately 6 hoursCompensation reflects the specialized instructional nature of the position and is competitive with local substitute-teaching and STEM camp opportunities.How to ApplyPlease send your résumé and a brief introduction describing your experience working with children and your STEM or educational background to info@stemagine.ai.Learn more about STEMagine at www.stemagine.ai.
