Remote work is a possibility for the right individual.The Accountant will report to the Controller and will assist the properties in all aspects of the accounting and finance functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and will be a part of supporting site operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintains all aspects of accounting responsibilities for multiple properties to include:Preparation of monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines and requirementsClose property books and prepare monthly financial statements and other schedules by analyzing general ledger accounts and property related reportsAnalyze the cash requirements of properties, anticipate future cash needs and notify property management of future deficienciesPrepare replacement reserve requests in a timely mannerPerform audit schedules, tax schedules, and budgetingMonthly bank reconciliationsCalculation of monthly management fees and other feesMonthly general ledger account analysis and balance sheet account reconciliationResolution of problems and issues as neededResearch problems under the direction of the immediate supervisor as requiredCommunicate with property owners and personnel as necessaryEnsure adherence to policies and procedure and maintain effective internal controlsWork as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as neededIdentify and implement process improvementPerforms other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GEDOne to three years accounting experienceProficient in Excel, Word, and OutlookOnsite property management software experience preferredThe ability to read and interpret complex tenant leases, real estate related agreements and construction contractsTeam player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independentlyMeticulous attention to detail and accuracyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive organizational and task management skillsJOB DIMENSIONSKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesExcellent verbal and written communication and listening skillsExcellent customer service skills and communicationStrong analytical and reasoning skillsStrong organization skills and ability to multitask efficiently and independentlyHigh degree of responsibility and initiativeStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and relate effectively, productively, and positively with other employeesDependable, punctual, and reliable with a strong work ethicWell organized with the ability to plan work, cope with conflicting work pressures, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines.Well-developed customer relation skills and a commitment to providing quality service and implementing continuous improvement.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThis job operates in a professional office environment.
