Job Title: RN - Infection Prevention & Control ManagerLocation: Sitka, AKPosition Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewThe Infection Prevention & Control Manager (IPCM) is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This role leads the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Program across a multi-site healthcare system.The IPCM ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and national regulatory standards and evidence-based infection prevention practices, including those established by CMS, CDC, OSHA, FDA, and Joint Commission. This position plays a key leadership role in protecting patients, staff, and communities through education, policy development, monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesInfection Prevention & Control ProgramDevelop, implement, maintain, and update the Infection Prevention and Control PlanEnsure alignment with regulatory agencies and nationally recognized best practicesDraft, review, and implement IPC-related policies and proceduresMonitor compliance with infection control standards across all departmentsData Collection & ReportingCollect, analyze, trend, and report infection prevention dataMaintain accurate records and statistical reportsSubmit required data to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and other regulatory agenciesServe as a resource to clinical and non-clinical departments regarding infection surveillanceEducation & TrainingServe as the subject matter expert in Infection Prevention and ControlStay current with emerging literature, guidelines, and best practicesProvide education and training to staff, patients, families, and communitiesConduct new-hire and annual IPC orientation and training programsMaintain collaborative relationships with public health agencies and external partnersLeadership & OversightChair the Infection Prevention & Control CommitteeParticipate in additional committees and interdisciplinary teams as neededProvide oversight of the Employee Health ProgramSupervise assigned staff and support performance developmentTravel & Site SupportTravel to multiple healthcare sites to conduct assessments, education, and trainingTravel may include air, small aircraft, and ferry transportationEducation, Certifications & LicensureActive, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Alaska or other U.S. state)Alaska license application required prior to start date if not already activeBachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or similar)Master's degree (MPH, MSN, or related field) preferredCertification in Infection Control (CIC) requiredBLS (Basic Life Support) required within 3 months of hire and maintained biannuallyHigh School Diploma or equivalentCompletion of required clinical and managerial competencies within designated timelinesExperience RequirementsMinimum 3 years of experience in:Acute care infection prevention/control and/orData collection, performance improvement, or risk managementExperience with epidemiological principles and basic statisticsLong-Term Care experience preferredKnowledge & SkillsStrong working knowledge of epidemiology and infectious disease principlesUnderstanding of regulatory compliance and accreditation standardsProficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance improvement methodologiesAdvanced computer skills, including MS Office and database applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to translate regulatory and evidence-based guidance into actionable policy and educationCore CompetenciesProgram management and evaluationData collection, trending, and reportingIndependent and team-based workProfessional communication with clinical, administrative, and executive leadershipAbility to work effectively across multiple departments and disciplinesRequired CertificationsRegistered Nurse License (State-specific, in good standing)Certification in Infection Control (CIC)Basic Life Support (BLS)Clinical Competency AssessmentHigh-Risk CompetencyFor more details reach at jmckenzie@navitashealth.com
