Job Title: Local Contract -Respiratory Therapist Number of positions: 1Years of experience: One to three yearsShift: Night shifts- 40 hoursDuration: 13 weeksStart Date: 04/07/2024Hourly pay: $49.14OT: 1.5Weekly Pay: $1,769.04JOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryDepartment: Respiratory Therapy 001Shift Timings: 18:30 - 07:00 Monday to Friday (3 Days/12 Hours)Per Week: 36 HoursA Respiratory Therapist performs patient assessment, evaluation for appropriate therapy, administration of therapy, consultation with other health care providers, diagnostic testing, implementation and troubleshooting of equipment and monitoring of patient.These services are provided as appropriate for patient age to include neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric adult. Roles & ResponsibilitiesAssess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.QUALIFICATIONSBLS and ACLSNational Institutes of Health (NIH)Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careRequires a minimum of two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience.Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist programActive unencumbered Iowa Respiratory Therapist state licenseOne year of Cerner experience Requirements• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.Participates in relevant continuing education programs.Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.ABOUT HEALTHCARE STAFFING PLUSHealthcare Staffing Plus is a US based national per diem, local contract, and locum tenens agency.
