Position: Gifted Intervention Teacher
The Gifted Intervention Teacher supports the identification, development, and growth of gifted learners through a comprehensive service model that emphasizes personalized learning, deep inquiry, and innovative thinking. This role includes providing direct instruction in intensified settings (Tier 3) and collaborative support and consultation (Tier 2) to ensure gifted students experience appropriately challenging, meaningful, and engaging learning opportunities.
The Gifted Intervention Teacher plays a critical role in fostering critical thinking, creative inquiry, and student self-awareness, while partnering with educators, families, and administrators to support both the academic and social-emotional needs of gifted learners.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct, differentiated instruction for gifted learners in intensified (Tier 3) settings
Design and facilitate inquiry-based, student-driven learning experiences that promote critical thinking and creative problem-solving
Support students in goal setting, reflection, and development of self-awareness and interpersonal skills
Provide collaborative support for classroom teachers to differentiate instruction, extend learning, and provide enrichment in Tier 2 settings
Assist with the identification of gifted students through assessment, data analysis, and observation
Develop, implement, and monitor Written Education Plans (WEPs) and communicate student progress
Partner with families, staff, and administrators to support student growth and program alignment
Contribute to a learning environment that fosters innovation, curiosity, risk-taking, and student voice
Qualifications
Valid Ohio teaching license
Gifted Intervention Specialist endorsement
Knowledge of gifted learner characteristics and instructional needs
Experience with differentiation, enrichment, and inquiry-based learning
Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills
