Description: Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a critical care environment. The unit is equipped for a variety of diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, and DKA. Patient ratios are 1:2-3 for stable patients, with 1:1 for unstable ventilated patients. RNs are required to titrate drips for medications like heparin, vasopressors, and sedation. There is a charge nurse available, and the unit employs a hospitalist or intensivist on-site. The staff includes respiratory therapists available 24/7. RNs are expected to assist if floating as "helping hands" in other departments. Weekend requirements are based on unit needs. Holiday requirements are negotiable. Great staffing ratios and teamwork are emphasized within the unit. Charting will be done using the MEDITECH system. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding work environment in acute care settings. Ideal candidates must demonstrate proficiency in caring for all age populations. Applicants must be comfortable with a mixed patient demographic, including stable pediatric patients.
