JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for working with Operations to ensure the proper management and maintenance of fixed and mobile company equipment. This position will lead a team of Technicians and Mechanics who are responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of property, plants, and related equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide technical guidance and manage all team members, including hiring, coaching, and development, to retain a motivated and professional workforce
Ensure all preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs are done in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation and principles, policies, and procedures established by the company
Perform complex troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks when needed
Oversee preventative maintenance, quality assurance, and adherence to Dolese safety policies, including all OSHA, MSHA, and regulatory guidelines
Reinforce the safety program by developing relevant topics for catwalk conversations and drive those conversations
Develop talent by providing employees with coaching, feedback, exposure, and continuous improvement assignments
Work collaboratively across the organization to meet shared objectives including, but not limited to, identifying and implementing the proper preventative maintenance and repair needs of company equipment
Develop, maintain, and foster positive relationships with vendors and internal customers
Work closely with vendors to evaluate performance of existing and new products and optimization of operating processes and procedures; gather cost justification for capital improvements
Coordinate project scope, planning, and execution activities across multiple functional teams; ensure projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints
Oversee and monitor preventative maintenance and repair work, and perform quality assurance audits
Manage project risks, issues, changes, actions, key decisions, and business readiness activities
Evaluate plant and mobile equipment performance and operational efficiency and make recommendations for improvement
Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of progressively responsible related experience, including at least 2 years of leadership experience in a similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required
At least 5 years of industry and/or technical experience with increasing levels of responsibility required
Experience with fleet and equipment telematics and computer diagnostic software preferred
Experience with controlling parts inventory and ordering parts preferred
Mechanic, machining, welding, and paint shop experience preferred
Experience using a preventative maintenance system preferred
Industry experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven track record of safe working habits as well as having a proactive approach towards safety
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships
Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills
Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong leadership skills and the ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
Working knowledge of plant maintenance and strong mechanical aptitude
Willingness to participate in company and industry programs regarding leadership and development
Ability to manage multiple construction projects and processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must be willing to work all shifts and weekends as required with travel up to 75% of the time
Familiarity with basic DOT requirements
Familiarity with government regulation/policies and advising stakeholders on the company's internal requirements
Proactive, well-organized, and effective time management skills with the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and detail oriented, ensuring maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not become major site problems
Excellent verbal, written, and reading comprehension skills
Knowledge of machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems
Knowledge of industrial sandblasting, painting, automotive paint, and body work.
Ability and knowledge to perform the most complex troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks
Good mathematical skills including the ability to figure equations as required in analyzing fleet data
Ability to ensure accountability and instill trust with employees by following through on commitments and making sure others do the same
Ability to build rapport in an open, friendly, and accepting way across various levels of the organization
Must be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences
Ability to travel occasionally for work to field locations and/or to attend meetings or training
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as required
Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100 lbs. of weight frequently
Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders
Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
Ability to use vibration tools repeatedly
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
Ability to verbally communicate, see, and hear
