Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Pipefitter Apprentice (3rd year) supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be working to assist our current Pipefitters by performing routine manual and mechanical work in the testing, operating, and plant areas of an engineering test facility. Maintains and assists with installation of piping systems and other pipefitting work.
Job Duties:
Acquire job skills and learn BNH policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks
Progression and Completion of Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program Syllabus as defined by the PF Union Apprenticeship Program
Read and understand work instructions
Learn layout, fabricate, assemble, and install complex piping systems that transport high-pressure liquids, chemicals, gases, and air
Working under the supervision of journeyman, apprentices gain on-the-job training by measuring materials, cutting and threading pipes, and testing systems for leaks
Review technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications to determine exact pipe dimensions and routing
Cut, thread, bend, and weld materials (like carbon steel or copper) using saws, threading machines and welding equipment
Join pipes using threaded, soldered, or welded joints and secure them to walls or structures using brackets and clamps
Conduct pressure tests to identify leaks and assist with troubleshooting or repairing failing systems
Maintain a clean work area and strictly adhere to OSHA, EPA, and site-specific safety regulations, especially when working at heights or in confined spaces
Maintains and assists with installation of piping systems
Helps with routing maintenance and servicing as required to place and keep test facility plant equipment in operation
Usa a variety of hand tools and operate less complex machine tools, measuring and testing equipment
Inspect own work and that of others as applicable
Participate as an active, engaged work team member
Clean and maintain a safety conscious work environment
It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
Perform other duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3rd Year Apprenticeship
Completion of comprehensive vocational education/training including courses in basic math, algebra, geometry, and physics
Pre-employment Welding Test: Must be able to successfully complete and maintain Welder Performance Qualification tests in accordance with ASME Section IX. 2-3/4” diameter x 5/8” thick carbon steel pipe. 1/8” GTAW (ER70S-2) open butt root, remainder SMAW (E7018). Position 6G.
All test coupons will be evaluated by radiography in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX, Welding and Brazing Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
Regular attendance is essential to the efficient operation of BNH and is a necessary condition of employment
Must be able to work overtime as required
Must be willing to work any shift
Current U. S. Citizenship required

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work at the Tennessee location.
