Chief Examiner
Job Summary
The Chief Examiner is responsible for maintaining and administering professional, standardized and academic tests. Ensure compliance to all testing regulations. Performs student support functions related to academic testing and specialized testing. Part time position allowing a maximum of 19 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Review and prepare for Pearson VUE certification. Oversee testing processes; ensure security of materials; be a lead to other staff in how to administer tests; schedule and publicize testing sessions; administer tests in compliance with Pearson VUE policy; inform examinees of how to access test scores; maintain and review testing logs; and testing irregularity reports. Screen candidates for eligibility; provide instructions on completing paperwork; provide information on receiving accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Maintain database of individuals who have passed the GED, report GED passers in order to access scholarships and graduation; assist former GED students with score reports and transcripts. Set up specialized database; enter using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Maintain a variety of records requiring classification and compilation of varied information. Complete certification for delivering CLEP, Pearson VUE, ACCUPLACER, and HESI testing.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains the testing facility in an appropriate manner, and immediately notifies supervisor of any problems with space or equipment.
May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position to include the recruitment and retention of students.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree and three (3) years of applicable experience - or - Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of applicable experience.
(Chief Examiner cannot be a student at Central Arizona College)
Background Verification: As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of testing processes.
Knowledge of modern office procedures and word processing, proofreading, and formatting a variety of documents.
Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and techniques associated with processing and disseminating information and support documentation.
Knowledge of computer database, spreadsheet and work processing skills including accessing on-line systems to download or upload files or records.
Knowledge of computer systems, hardware and software used in processing of documents.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and College policies and procedures pertaining to the area assigned.
Knowledge of methods used in organizing and prioritizing work to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Skill in providing service to students
Skill in effective use and operation of computer hardware and a variety of software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases and desktop publishing.
Skill in developing and designing program brochures, marketing materials, flyers, advertisements and newsletters in support of the program.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in order to communicate with student, co-workers, supervisors, and other members of the organization to request or transmit information, ask questions, get clarification, and exercise tact to understand others point of view.
