Senior Database Administrator

Job OverviewSeeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support enterprise database administration, infrastructure management, system performance optimization, disaster recovery, and technical operations across mainframe and distributed database environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, SQL Server, and z/OS infrastructure technologies while supporting mission-critical enterprise systems and operational initiatives.Requirement/Must HaveBachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Strong experience in database administration across DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management, and database administration.Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and subsystem point-in-time recovery.Strong knowledge of JCL and the z/OS integrated platform.Experience with CA GEN model management and application object support.Strong knowledge of ISPF, ASG Scheduler, and COBOL.Experience using DB2 for z/OS database monitoring and z/OS software monitoring tools.Knowledge of technical infrastructure planning, implementation, and coordination.Experience with z/OS started task creation and management.Strong working knowledge of RACF, CICS, IOF, and disaster recovery requirements.Experience with Oracle and SQL Server application integration, performance management, and database administration.Knowledge of infrastructure change management and verification testing techniques.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork abilities.ExperienceExperience supporting DB2 for z/OS environments in enterprise production systems.Experience with SQL Server administration including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS.Experience working with Windows Servers and Azure environments.Experience with z/OS EXITs, BJS, AFOPER commands, and IBI z/OS service support.Experience supporting disaster recovery planning and recovery operations.Experience with enterprise infrastructure monitoring and performance tuning.Experience supporting integrated database infrastructures preferred.Knowledge of enterprise financial management applications preferred.Experience working within integrated enterprise application environments preferred.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and SQL Server database environments.Support database integration, performance management, monitoring, and recovery operations.Perform DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and subsystem recovery activities.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot database and infrastructure issues.Support technical infrastructure planning, implementation, and coordination activities.Manage z/OS started tasks and support enterprise operational processes.Coordinate disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery support activities.Perform infrastructure verification testing and support change management initiatives.Support monitoring tools, automation processes, and enterprise scheduling systems.Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure support teams.Provide technical guidance, documentation, and operational support for enterprise systems.Should HaveStrong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.Ability to work effectively within enterprise operational environments.Leadership and mentoring experience.Experience supporting large-scale enterprise database infrastructures.Ability to adapt to changing technologies and operational priorities.SkillsDB2 for z/OS.Oracle Database.Microsoft SQL Server.JCL.z/OS.CA GEN.ISPF.COBOL.ASG Scheduler.RACF.CICS.IOF.SSMS.SSRS.SSIS.Azure.Windows Server.Disaster Recovery.Infrastructure Monitoring.Performance Tuning.Database Administration.EducationBachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Founded in 2010 and headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area, Cynet Systems Inc. is a leading staffing and recruiting powerhouse.
