Federal Process Engineer

About the Opportunity:The Federal Process Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing process engineering tasks for federal projects in industrial, manufacturing, energy, life sciences, and advanced technology sectors. The role contributes by improving process safety, efficiency, and compliance, supporting federal clients in optimizing industrial processes and integrating new technologies.3. Responsibilities:Evaluate industrial and manufacturing processes for safety, efficiency, and sustainability improvements.Develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and process narratives.Perform process calculations such as mass and energy balances and equipment sizing.Prepare equipment specifications and procurement support documents.Support process hazard analyses, safety reviews, and regulatory compliance.Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Assist in facility planning, process layout, and operational readiness.Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and presentations.Support construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.Assist with proposal development, scope, budgeting, and project planning.Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.4. Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.5-10 years of progressively responsible process engineering experience.Experience with industrial, manufacturing, chemical, energy, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, semiconductor, or advanced technology facilities.Experience supporting federal clients or defense contractors.Proven ability to produce engineering calculations, reports, and design documents.Relevant certifications such as PE, CCPSC, Six Sigma, PMP, or CAP.Experience in multidisciplinary teams and federal or EPC project environments.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and simulation software.Ability to lead small teams and manage multiple stakeholders.Effective communication, organizational skills, and willingness to work in field, hybrid, and office settings.Capability to conduct site visits, access industrial environments, lift up to 25 pounds, and wear PPE as required.5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000 per year, with actual compensation based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.Eligibility for performance-based bonuses.Comprehensive U.S.-based benefits package.6.
