This organization supports a diverse portfolio of business operations and requires a pragmatic, business-minded legal professional to provide hands-on support across a range of in-house matters.This engagement is designed to provide coverage for a Director of Legal Affairs who will be on leave, with direct support to the SVP, Enterprise Legal Affairs.Engagement DetailsDuration: approximately 4 monthsSchedule: Full-time, hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)Location: Corona del Mar, CAFocus: Transactional / Commercial Counsel with generalist responsibilitiesPosition OverviewThe Interim Commercial Counsel will serve as a key member of the legal team, providing broad in-house legal support with a strong emphasis on commercial transactions, alongside exposure to litigation management, employment advisory, and operational legal matters. This role requires a proactive, adaptable attorney who can operate both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Contracting* Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including technology, vendor, and services contracts* Provide guidance on real estate-related agreements as neededLitigation ManagementCoordinate with outside counsel on active litigation mattersServe as a liaison between external counsel, internal stakeholders, and paralegal resourcesTrack and support ongoing case management effortsLegal Research & Writing* Conduct research across a range of legal and regulatory issues* Prepare clear, well-organized legal memoranda, summaries, and actionable recommendationsEmployment & Operational Advice* Provide day-to-day guidance on employment matters, including wage and hour issues* Advise business teams on operational and legal considerationsRisk & Compliance Support* Assist in identifying legal risks and developing mitigation strategies* Support compliance initiatives and internal advisory effortsProject & Cross-Functional Support* Contribute to legal and operational projects across the organization* Partner with cross-functional teams on planning, execution, and compliance-related initiativesQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) and active U.S. bar license in good standingPrior in-house legal experience requiredStrong generalist background, with experience in employment and wage/hour advisoryDemonstrated experience managing litigation matters and working with outside counselExperience reviewing and negotiating commercial agreementsExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsTo apply:If you are qualified, interested, and available, please send1) your WORD version resume and2) an email stating why you are a good fit for this position to anant.raj@elevate.lawElevate Legal Talent provides an unparalleled platform for you to work with innovative companies and law firms worldwide on various exciting and challenging roles.
