Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our team in the food industry. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. This position requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for meal preparation and ensure they are properly stored and handled.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and handling standards.
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, dicing, and sautéing ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stocking supplies.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and maintain a positive work environment.
- Perform various tasks such as washing dishes, sweeping floors, and cleaning equipment.
- Follow proper food safety and handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the quality of food served.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food industry, preferably in a kitchen or restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills, including knowledge of meal preparation and food safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Familiarity with food handling and catering practices.
- Certification as a Dietary Aide or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
