Job involves a moderate degree of complexity. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.Detailed Responsibilities: POLICY & PROCEDURE - Develop and implement all security plans, policies and procedures, security oversight, operational security, and security training. Maintain facility and personnel security standards SUPERVISION - Manage employees, establish performance goals, assign tasks, and allocate resources to projects as appropriate DIRECT - Direct security staff to reduce risk, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to compromise of organizational information, assets, facilities, equipment, employees, patients, and intellectual property. Participate in internal and external disaster drills RELATED DUTIES - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Effectuates performance evaluations, personnel policies, hiring, promotion and discipline POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops TRAINING - Maintain security training records DEVELOPMENT - Assist in development of control procedures and documentation for access to rooms containing select bio-agents, drugs and other high value items including patient belongings and hospital safes DRILLS - Participate in internal, external disaster drills and participate in assigned role when HICS is set up INFORMATION - Direct security staff to limit the compromise of organizational information, i.e.: assets, facilities, equipment, employees, patients, and intellectual property AGENCIES - Establish and maintain cooperation with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies, security departments and fire and safety agencies BUDGET AND GOALS - Develop and oversee the annual budget; direct and monitor security related quality assurance programs; update and implement departmental plans, goals and objectives SYSTEMS - Manage aspects of security related systems to include access control system, incident reporting system records and identification badge system POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain facility and personnel security standardsQualificationsEducation:Essential: Associate DegreeNonessential: Bachelor's DegreeEssential:Education specialization: Related DisciplineNonessential: Related DisciplineExperience:Essential:5 years directly related experienceNonessential:Credentials:Essential: Int'l Assoc for Healthcare Security & Safety Cert w/in 6 mon Valid New Mexico Driver's License UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 daysPhysical Conditions:Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
