We are hiring an experienced IV&V Test Fixture and Hardware Integration Engineer to support verification and validation of complex hardware modules, including FPGA-based cards, FPGA + software systems, and mixed I/O boards.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on hardware integration, creative test fixture development, and solving complex validation challenges in a lab or hardware testing environment.Job ID: 2694Location: Fully RemotePreferred Location: EST time zone; ideally within a 5–8 hour drive of Wilmington, NCTravel: Possible quarterly travel to Wilmington, NCWork Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PMContract Length: May 29, 2026 – May 28, 2027Pay Type: HourlyBill Rate: $73.00/hrHours: 40 hours/weekEmployment Type: Contract / Leased WorkerOpenings: 1Interview Process: 1 virtual panel interview, cameras on, approximately 45 minutesEquipment: Equipment will be ordered for the selected candidateKey Technical SkillsFPGALabVIEWPythonTestStandHardware-in-the-loop testingEmbedded systems testingTest fixture developmentSignal-level debuggingAbout the RoleThe IV&V Test Fixture and Hardware Integration Engineer will design and build practical, reusable test solutions that allow IV&V teams to stimulate, monitor, and verify hardware card behavior without requiring full system setups.This position will focus on creating configurable test fixtures and interfaces for FPGA-based hardware, software-integrated cards, and mixed I/O boards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build configurable test fixtures for module cards, including FPGA-only cards, FPGA + software cards, and mixed I/O boards.Create interfaces that allow IV&V teams to stimulate, monitor, and verify card behavior without relying on full system integration.Support digital, analog, communications, and backplane/chassis interfaces.Perform signal-level debugging when system behavior does not meet expectations.Develop light test automation using Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar tools.Translate IV&V requirements into practical, reusable hardware setups rather than one-off builds.Support hands-on lab validation, troubleshooting, and hardware integration activities.Preferred BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or embedded systems testing.Familiarity with FPGA board-level testing, even if not the FPGA design owner.Experience developing custom test equipment, test fixtures, or validation hardware.Strong hands-on lab and debug skills.Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test and measurement equipment.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate has strong experience in FPGA hardware testing, IV&V, test fixture development, and hardware integration. They should be comfortable working with complex hardware modules, debugging signal-level issues, and building reusable test solutions for validation teams.
