Overview We are seeking a skilled Ignition Developer/Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications that enhance our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using modern development practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, web development, and experience with various programming languages and frameworks. Job Description – Ignition Engineer Location: Florence, SC Duration: 3-6 months contract Summary: Anchor Automation is looking for a hands-on Ignition Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming automation projects. The role requires strong Ignition experience combined with PLC/controls commissioning background. The engineer will be based in the U.S. and expected to travel to customer sites as needed. Key Responsibilities Ignition / SCADA Development Design, configure, and deploy Ignition-based SCADA/HMI systems (Vision and Perspective). Develop and maintain Ignition Gateway configurations, UDTs, tag structures, historian, and alarm management. Implement scripting (Python/Expression) and database integration (SQL) for custom functionality. PLC & Controls Integration Integrate Allen Bradley and Schneider PLCs via OPC-UA, Modbus/TCP, and vendor drivers. Coordinate with onsite and offshore PLC teams for testing, IO validation, and commissioning support. Perform field troubleshooting, instrument calibration, and control panel validation. Commissioning & Field Work Conduct onsite commissioning, FAT/SFAT, and customer witness testing. Travel to various project sites for start-up, support, and modification work. Work with electricians, panel builders, and site contractors to resolve issues efficiently. Collaboration & Reporting Coordinate with Anchor’s local and offshore engineering teams. Provide daily/weekly progress updates and maintain quality and documentation standards. Act as the onsite technical interface projects. Qualifications & Skills Overall 8+ years of hands-on experience in Ignition SCADA and PLC commissioning. Strong knowledge of Ignition Gateway setup, scripting, and database integration. Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLCs (Logix platform)/ Schneider systems. Solid understanding of field commissioning, electrical drawings, and P&IDs. Excellent communication and customer-handling skills. Job Type: Contract Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour Benefits: Relocation assistance Work Location: In person
