This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a large-scale, multi-cloud environment that includes AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions that align with strategic organizational goals. This position requires a hands-on approach, with responsibilities spanning the entire cloud lifecycle—from initial architecture and development to operational sustainment and continuous optimization.The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. You will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to other engineers, ensuring best practices are followed and organizational standards are met. This role is hybrid, with a preference for candidates located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or Huntsville, AL, and may require onsite presence as needed to support mission-critical activities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Active Secret clearance required to start.U.S. citizenship is mandatory.Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2).Expert-level experience designing and supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application architectures.Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud security concepts.Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated experience in cloud operations, sustainment, and supporting the responsibilities outlined above.ResponsibilitiesPerform cloud operations, engineering, and maintenance tasks to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure AWS cloud solutions.Develop and implement cloud strategies and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals and technical requirements.Evaluate emerging cloud technologies to maximize automation and assess their impact on organizational objectives.Drive the adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks to improve efficiency.Optimize application performance and reliability within cloud environments.Design, implement, and sustain secure cloud architectures based on zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies.Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and regulatory requirements.Implement and manage cloud networking security controls, including STIG requirements, identity, and access management solutions.Facilitate customer onboarding processes and develop pathways for cloud adoption.Assess legacy systems and design modernization strategies, including containerization and microservices architectures.Support development of migration plans to ensure minimal disruption during transitions.Manage and optimize cloud environments, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and database systems.Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and related tools.Containerize applications to improve scalability and deployment efficiency.Support the design and development of shared services and cloud infrastructure.Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.Maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Prepare comprehensive technical documentation to support development and operational activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and management to deliver integrated solutions.Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementations.BenefitsCompetitive salary and comprehensive health insurance plans.Paid time off, holidays, and flexible work arrangements.Opportunities for professional development and certifications.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Support for work-life balance and career growth.Access to cutting-edge technology and innovative projects.Equal OpportunityLeidos is an equal opportunity employer.
