Position Details.About This RoleIn this retail banking role (internally titled Banking Specialist II), you will create and deliver a positive client experience while conducting financial transactions typically associated with a bank teller position in a modern, client-focused environment. You must have a positive attitude, be a team player, and actively listen to clients' financial needs to refer them to the appropriate bank product or representative.Additionally, you must adapt well to a changing workplace environment, effectively handle client service concerns, maintain the security of client information, prioritize competing demands, and responsibly manage your assigned cash drawer.In this Role You WillClient ExperienceDeliver a differentiated, high-touch client experience focused on improving financial well-being and building long-term loyalty. Process a variety of retail banking transactions typically performed in bank teller roles, while educating clients on available banking solutions and identifying opportunities to deepen relationships through appropriate referrals.ReferralsIdentify opportunities through meaningful client conversations and refer clients to branch partners or specialized teams to meet broader financial needs.Lobby EngagementActively engage clients within the branch environment, positioning First Bank products and services to align with their needs. Educate clients on options for conducting banking transactions efficiently using digital tools, self-service technology, and alternative service channels.Product and Procedural KnowledgeApply knowledge of banking products, services, and procedures to accurately and efficiently fulfill client requests and deliver consistent service.Teller Operations & ComplianceExecute daily teller operations, including processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other transactional activities, while maintaining accuracy and adherence to all policies and procedures. Demonstrate sound judgment and ensure all banking and teller-related transactions and branch operational tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.Other DutiesPerform additional responsibilities as assigned to support branch operations and the overall client experience.Qualifications, Competencies, And SkillsEducationHigh school diploma or GED required.ExperienceAt least one year of relevant work experience preferred; prior experience in banking or in a bank teller or retail banking environment is strongly preferred.Accuracy and Attention to DetailAbility to process financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Addressing Client NeedsAbility to recognize and respond to varying client perspectives and priorities with professionalism and care.Digital AwarenessSupports clients in navigating digital banking tools and online resources, enabling them to manage financial transactions and achieve their financial goals effectively.Effective CommunicationAbility to clearly communicate information, actively listen, and accurately interpret client needs using appropriate communication techniques.Critical ThinkingAbility to identify, prevent, and address potentially fraudulent situations using sound judgment and established processes.Managing Multiple PrioritiesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining service quality and operational accuracy.Problem SolvingAbility to anticipate, identify, and resolve operational and client-related issues using appropriate tools and resources.Role Alignment (For Candidates)This position may align with roles such as Banking Specialist, Client Service Representative, Retail Banking Associate, or Bank Teller within a branch banking environment, with an elevated focus on client experience and relationship building.Compensation DisclosureThe range for this role takes into account many factors that First Bank considers when making hiring decisions, including but not limited to prior experience, skill set, training, and internal equity. First Bank generally does not hire at or near the top of the stated range.
