PositionProduction Shift SupervisorReports ToProduction SuperintendentEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSafely supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of Production Day Technicians.Manage execution of routine equipment and safety inspectionsMaintain an adequate supply of materials and manage inventory inspections.Develop, implement, and conduct employee training programs related to equipment operations.Review and document changes in operating procedures.Train shift personnel on changes in procedures and work instructions.Assist in plant shutdown, start-up, and turnaround planning and related activities.Document and investigate violations of company policy, standard operating procedures, and work practices and take appropriate corrective action.Complies with all Safety Procedures.Available to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.Ensures maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with Shintech policies and procedures.Indicates necessary actions when equipment mechanical problems arise. Oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of routine and major maintenance activities within their area and works with the planners, technicians, and operations on a daily basis.Improves work efficiency working with the warehouse to improve material deliveries and material stock. Manages and supports all emergent and urgent work within their area of responsibility Develops next-day work list from the weekly schedule and communicate to Operations and Maintenance personnel.Manages and optimizes overall spending within their area. Track the progress of work in their area and document lessons learned for future planning and scheduling.Oversees backlog management efforts within their area of responsibility.Evaluates, mentors/develops, coaches, and provides feedback (positive or developmental) to the technicians as necessary.Improves efficient execution of maintenance activities by ensuring aggressive daily/weekly schedules are not only developed but followed. Helps improve work order priorities and allocation of resources when necessary.Assists with overtime management to reduce overtime percentages.Improves communication between Maintenance and other departments (Operations, Engineering, Safety, etc.) in their area of responsibility.Works directly with the Electrical, Instrument, Analyzer, and Mechanical Supervisors regarding the scheduling of work task. Adhere to and promote company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.RequiredQualifications and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing or related military experience. An accredited associate’s degree in Chemical Process or Chemical Technology or Chemical Process Certificate is required in lieu of experience.Mechanical aptitude and ability.Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.Completed certification in all Chlor-Alkali operator jobs.Preferred5 years of CA operations; step-up supervisor experiencePrior supervising experienceFamiliar with Microsoft Office ToolsBackground in scheduling and planningPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Regularly required to push, pull, bend, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.Occasionally required to stoop and kneel. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.Use of PPE required in specific areas.
